Tummy Time Tribe
Tummy Time can be tricky, what does your baby think of it? It can be hard to know what to do to help them enjoy it. With my background as a Paediatric Physio and having completed a Tummy Time Practitioner's course, tummy time is my thing and I can help!
My Tummy Time Tribe sessions are perfect from around 8 weeks old to learn about an important part of your baby's development. It is the starting point for developing on to roll, sit, crawl, stand, walk and even helps with fine motor function like holding a pencil. There is no upper age limit for these classes, just when they are happy spending time on their tummy.

Tummy time has loads of benefits, including:
-
Stronger shoulders and upper limbs, develop shoulder stability in preparation for crawling.
-
Reduces the risk of flat head syndrome (Plagiocephaly).
-
It encourages their spine to develop into the curved ‘S’ shape that we have, as adults.
-
Stronger neck and back muscles which improves head control.
-
Supports development of their visual skills, promoting visual perception, their eye control and their hand-eye coordination.

These classes are not just about tummy time, we also practice rolling, side lying play and purposeful play activities perfect for this age group which all contributes to building brains and movement.

There is so much more to tummy time than popping your baby on their front on the floor. We will make it accessible, easy and fun whilst giving you some wonderful opportunities to bond with your baby.

Bubba Gym - Infant Developmental Play Gym

Developmental play gyms are a guided and supported way to practise play skills with developmentally appropriate activities which give that 'just right challenge'. You will be able to add variety to your baby's play times and promote their development while also giving you some supported time with your baby and a chance to meet other parents and babies. You can ask questions about your baby and their developmental progress, find out what you can be focussing on at home to give them a boost and also just spend some quality time enjoying each other in play.

These groups follow a structure, with 'Hellos' at the beginning, action songs, guided developmental activities, free play including heuristic play (treasure bags), parachute play, a story and then 'Goodbyes' at the end. Babies love a familiar routine and the predictability of doing a similar sequence each class.

With my Paediatric Physio background and experience, I am keen to welcome families with babies with additional needs or developmental challenges who would like some extra support. Please get in touch to find out more.
Powerful, Purposeful Play

The developmentally appropriate activities continue to give your toddler a little 'just right' challenge in order to build their brain in all sorts of ways.
